Lava Hot Springs, Idaho

I went on a spontaneous road trip this weekend to Idaho with my buddy Luke. We went to Lava Hot Springs. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quick and easy getaway for three main reasons.

  1. The town is a short drive off the main road I-15. Being close to the major freeway makes it easy to locate and efficient to travel to. It is about 130 miles from Salt Lake City, yet it takes only a little over two hours to drive there. It is nice that it is a few miles off the freeway. The town is tucked away in the mountains and you can't see or hear the major road. Its location creates the ideal setting for a quick and relaxing vacation.
  2. The Hot springs are high quality and high quantity. The resort has clean restrooms and changing areas.  Surrounding the pools, the landscape is aesthetically pleasing. Most importantly, the water is HOT and amazing. Thirty minutes of soaking will make your muscles and skin feel refreshed (no chlorine).
  3. The town is small and feels homey. You'll probably question whether you're on the set for a new Hallmark movie.

I've heard the town bustles over the summer with visitors so I think a trip in the summer would give you a different experience. My winter experience was relaxing and rewarding. Thanks Lava Hot Springs!
