Goals and Smiles

Please inspect this photo. Yes, that is a human. Yes, he is balancing on a 3000-foot stone wall with no rope. His name is Alex Honnold. In a recently released documentary, National Geographic featured his historic climb of El Capitan in Yosemite national park. He climbs the massive wall in just 3 hours and 56 minutes. Earlier this week, I went to the theater to watch this achievement in the movie "Free Solo." It was captivating and exciting. I don't recommend climbing without a rope to anyone. I went on a spontaneous road trip this weekend to Idaho with my buddy Luke. We went to Lava Hot Springs. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quick and easy getaway for three main reasons. The town is a short drive off the main road I-15. Being close to the major freeway makes it easy to locate and efficient to travel to. The town is tucked away in the mountains and you can't see or hear the major road. Its location creates the ideal setting for a quick and relaxing vacation. The Hot springs are high quality and high quantity. The resort has clean restrooms and changing areas.  Surrounding the pools, the landscape is aesthetically pleasing. Most importantly, the water is HOT and amazing. Thirty minutes of soaking will make your muscles and skin feel refreshed (no chlorine).  The town is small and feels homey. You'

Life is also challenging. We need to adapt to trials and endure heartache.  This blog will be a canvas for my thoughts and experiences. I'm no expert at life but I have found meaning and purpose that has lifted me from my lowest moments. My goal is to be sincere and authentic.  I thought I would share a little about myself to give you some context into my life. My name is Jake Witt. I am from Millcreek in Salt Lake City. I am the youngest of a family of four boys. In the warmer months, I love being outside to play sports, to spend time in nature, and to relax in the sun. In the winter, I enjoy skiing, watching movies and playing board games. My friend and family relationships are important to me and a source of happiness. I love music and dancing. I’m currently learning guitar and tak
